Conservatives on the Christian Right need a wake-up call. Their faith and love for the Republican Party is similar to their professed faith and love for Jesus Christ, but without the moral standards of The Christ. Conservative on the Christian right require no proof that their trust in the Republican Party has verifiable validity. They live on faith. But it is an illusion based on a presumptive morality that does not exist. They have faith in the Republican party even when the party's actions or lack of action is a contradiction of their expressed morality.
It proves once again that faith is nothing more than believing without proof what you have already decided to believe. This is never more true than when the belief is based on illusion and delusion.
Republicans relentless repeat words such as "my faith"; "family values"; "true American" and "real patriot", but they are devoid of substance. They are simply delusional political fodder that have no real meaning. They are words that are repeated ad nauseam for the sole purpose of possessing the political soul of conservative voters who are emotional thinkers and who place no value on actions as long as the emotional soundbites feed their emotional addiction.
Republican governors along with state and federal legislators, when they are not fomenting fear, hate, and other divisive rhetoric throw around a lot of delusional emotional hype. But it's just empty noise. Their generalities and delusional platitudes have all the sound and substance of an empty 55 gallon oil drum rolling around the back of a runaway pick up truck. Republicans talk about making America great again, but do not say what "making America great again" means or how they will do it
Equally as important as what they say and promise is what they do not say and promise. They are fond of spouting empty platitudes that, as Lenny Bruce once said, "sounds good to a dummy". But, think about what Republicans do not say.
Missing in the vile and repressive social media missives, cable news propaganda, and Republican rhetoric are words like "peace"; "justice"--without repressive intent for minorities; "equality" for all Americans; "reproductive rights of women"; and "civil rights" for every segment of America.
Republicans do make promises on which they are very proactive; and in fact, relentless promote.
1. Conservative promise to promote a gun culture and provide easy access to guns with the right to open-carry anywhere except where they Republican officials and legislators are present. This includes military type automatic weapons whose only function is to end human life.
2. Republican promise to send your sons and daughters to war any time a foreign entity does something they don't like. But mostly they send your sons and daughters whenever a foreign entity threatens the profits of greedy immoral corporations.
Could it be that conservatives are opposed to peaceful negotiations because they lack the moral fortitude and the intellectual capacity for peaceful negotiation? Or is it more likely that they are opposed to peaceful negotiations because war increases the wealth of greedy immoral corporations who have no interest in the life, liberty, welfare, and pursuit of happiness of the sons and daughters of Americans who are not wealthy? Can the CEOs of greedy immoral corporations have an interest in democracy?
3. Conservative Republican promise to deny women access to affordable sexual health care. That's why Republicans lie about Planned Parenthood and participate in relentless rhetoric and efforts to Defund Planned Parenthood. If you are a poor, working class, middle class woman, it should be obvious to you that conservative Republicans want you pregnant, in medical debt, or sick and invisible.
4. Republicans promise to get rid of any policies that attempt to provide affordable health care for American families that are not rich. They have attempted to get rid of the Affordable Care Act they call Obamacare more than 50 immoral obscene times with no plans to replace it. It is obvious that conservative Republicans want Americans saddled with medical debt, chronically ill, invisible or dead.
The Christian right should realize that not liking something doesn't make you more moral. Your opposition often means that, unlike Jesus Christ, you have no tolerance for those who are not like what you perceive yourself to be. But sometimes your perceived morality is just an illusion; and not very Christian.
