One of the disturbing features of right wing poor and middle class conservatives voters is the insane visceral attractions they appear to have for their Tea Party influenced Republican abusers. That it occurs in a democracy where citizen have choices is even more disturbing. It's disturbing, but not surprising since most right wing red state conservatives are not critical thinkers. Predictably they tend to respond to propaganda laced with emotional words and fake concern for their welfare from the mouths of predatory liars. They applaud even when the lies of their abusers are blatantly false and apparent for all to see and hear.
Veterans vote for Republicans even though The GOP has voted down every bill that would benefit Veterans. Republicans unabashedly send conservative voter's sons and daughters to fight wars that only benefit CEOs and corporate profits. But these money mongers turn a blind eye and deaf ear to conservative voter's sons and daughters when they return home battered, injured, and broken.
In case veterans, wives and children of veterans, and parents of veterans have forgotten, Republicans swore that the war in Iraq was about getting rid of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) in Iraq in order to "keep America safe". But the existence of WMDs (weapons of mass destruction) in Iraq that threatened America was a lie perpetrated on the America people. And the proponent of that war knew it. The Iraq war was about money and corporate profits. Little else.
But Republican disdain for Americans isn't restricted to veterans. Republicans have no love or respect for Americans who are not part of the 1%, America's legitimately wealthy American families. And it is not something they try to hide. Wealthy Right Wing conservatives at some point must have reached the conclusion that "we can say and do anything to these dumb SOBs as long as we say we are against government, Obama, abortion, gays, blacks, women rights, immigration, liberals, social security and medicare.
Before any thinking American consider give their vote to a right wing Tea Party influenced conservative Republican, they should ask themselves two questions.
I. In the last 20 years exactly what laws, policies, or legislation have Republicans passed, advocated, or promoted that benefits all Americans? When you complete the list, don't list those things Republicans say they are against (such as gay marriage, Obamacare, abortion, the federal government, and Planned Parenthood) even if you erroneously believe opposition to those things benefit America. Only list those thing Republicans initiate, pass, and support for the benefit of Americans.
II. In the history of America what policies and legislation did conservatives oppose out of claims that they would destroy America, but in fact have actually been good for America? This is a very long list. We will name a few. Conservatives claim we couldn't or shouldn't have these things because, in minds polluted by hate, fear, and greed, people who should and did know better said they would destroy America and cause our democratic society to collapse
1. Freeing the slaves.
2. Allowing Labor Unions, which helped create the white middle class.
3. Promoting Equal rights for women and the right of women to vote.
4. Allowing the IRS to collect Federal income tax.
5. Social security.
6. Medicare
7. Interracial Marriage.
8. Blacks in the military.
9. Voting rights and civil rights for minorities.
10 Regulation of industries that pollute America's water, soil, and air.
11 Raising the Debt Ceiling.
12 Affordable Health Care Act.
13 Same sex marriage.
14 Giving women the right to control their own bodies.
15 Allowing the EPA to enforce Regulation of Industries that pollute our soil, water, and air.
16 Adequately funding public education.
17 Making higher education affordable and easing the unnecessary devastation and burden of student loans debt.
18 Proposing a viable minimum wage
19 Separation of church and state
20 Child labor laws to protect children from abusive employers.
If you believe these 20 things are abhorrent and bad for America; and if you can list any Republican programs and policies that were good for America, then continue this conservative assault on American Democracy. If you can't do both, why would you still vote for conservative Republican?
