It's official. In their caustic and virulent denial of climate change, conservative Republicans reveal that they really don't care about your children, nor the long term quality of life and survival of your grandchildren and great grandchildren.
And it appears there are a number of conservative voting parents and grandparents who don't care about the quality of life and long term survival of their children and grandchildren either. Otherwise, how else do you explain why so many parents and grandparents keep voting for conservative politicians who propose and enact laws and policies that put the future of their families at risk?
Almost 70% of the Republican Caucus in the House of Representatives and 65% of Republicans in the Senate vehemently choose to ignore the overwhelming consensus from the scientific community that climate change is happening and at a tremendous cost to taxpaying American citizens and their children. Why?
Is it because they have sold out to the fossil fuel industry? Or do they ignore climate change because when the worse happen, they will be dead and couldn't care less about what happens to those who are left behind--including their own families and their future offsprings?
House Speaker, John Boehner, (R-Ohio) calls President Obama's White House initiatives to decrease the amount of polluting carbon emissions "absolutely crazy".
Governor Rick Scott, (R-Florida) said he has "not been convinced that there is any man-made climate change. Nothing convinces me that there is".
In a Senate hearing on climate science, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) was "offended" by the fact that 98% of climate scientists report that studies show that climate change was real, threatening, and likely cause by humans. He chooses instead to believe the 2% of "scientists" who, for whatever reasons, deny climate change.
Governor Rick Perry, (R-Texas) not widely recognized as intellectually brilliant, is a vociferous global warming and climate change denier. Governor Perry claims that the scientific data on global warming has been "doctored" and climate science "hijacked by the political left". Governor Perry has taken this stance in spite of the damage done to the state of Texas by record high hot summer temperatures, severe drought conditions, declining water level in underlying aquifers and reservoirs, and threats and damage to public health and the economy caused by these conditions.
The voices of big business driven by fossil fuels and politicians motived who are by greed, have a a disdain for humanity, and have no love for the families they will leave behind when they die are readily willing to ignore the scientific information on climate change and global warming.
I am not sure of what motivates parents and grandparents who profess love for their children to continue voting for conservatives GOP politicians who ignore climate change and global warming at the expense of their children and their offsprings.
Go figure.
