Of the many lies Mitt Romney told during the presidential campaign, one of the biggest lies was that in his 25 years in business he was not aware that American Corporations got tax breaks for outsourcing jobs to China and other places overseas.
Romney lied about that and likely knows that the Rusting of America began with laws that gave corporations tax credits for the cost of moving factories to other countries. As head of the Investment Company, Bain Capital, Mitt Romney took advantage of this law. He did it so Bain Capital could pursue it's stated goal. According to a former Bain Capital managing director, during Romney's tenure, "we had a scheme where the rich got richer". Mitt Romney and Bain Capital got richer by laying of thousands of American workers and outsourcing American jobs overseas to Communist China and third-world nations.
In 2012, the "Bring Homes Jobs Act" bill was introduced in congress that would have removed the tax credit for outsourcing jobs overseas. And with the income from that change would have given a 20% tax break to corporations for jobs brought back to America. But Republicans in the house blocked the house version of the bill (H.R. 5542) by a vote of 238-184. And Republicans blocked the Senate version of the bill (S. 2884) by a failed vote of 56-42. Only three (3) Republican Senators voted in favor of the Bill where passage in the Senate required a vote of 60 to end the discussion on the bill and move it to final vote.
The New York Times reported that General Electric Corporation paid Zero Dollars in taxes in 2010. But G.E. made more than $14 Billion in 2010 which included $3.2 Billion in tax credits. Through one of it corporate representatives, General Electric admits that they have outsourced at least 60% of their manufacturing jobs. G.E. like many other corporations, do not outsource jobs overseas because America does not have enough skilled workers. Corporations send jobs overseas because corporations, banks, and stockholders are greedy and can make huge profits off the backs of non-union, uninsured, and desperate third-world people living in poverty. If they could do that in the USA, they would have remained in the USA.
Mitt Romney says he believes in the American Dream. But the American Dream has been outsourced to Communist China, India, Mexico, Brazil and third-world overseas nations. And Republicans intend to keep it that way.
Before we cast our votes for president and members of congress in November, poor, working class, and middle-class Americans of every persuasion should remember that many of the jobs that once belonged to Americans are now in Brazil, India, Mexico, Communist China, and numerous third-world countries. You have no skills that big business and Republicans who favor big business want unless you are willing to work at third-world labor wages without retirement benefits and health insurance.
Tell Mr Mitt Romney and conservatives republicans who help to villilfy and destroy unions that protect the American Workers that this is not the American Dream you vision for you and your children. And you will no longer accept as president or congress representative any man or woman who destroys American jobs by obstructing and blocking any efforts to bring them back in the form that strengthens what once had been a proud middle class.
